How NSW working days are counted
A NSW business day on this page is a weekday that is not a statewide public holiday. National days such as Australia Day and Good Friday are removed, as are NSW-only weekdays including Labour Day in October and the June King’s Birthday holiday. When Anzac Day or Boxing Day falls on a weekend, the extra weekday listed for NSW is also treated as a non-working day.
The August Bank Holiday is stored as a regional / limited observance because it is not a general public holiday for most workplaces. It stays in the count unless you turn on local observances. Confirm unusual workplace closures against the NSW public holiday list.
The working-day span includes both ends when those dates are working days. Adding business days starts after the from date. Results cannot leave 2026-01-01 to2027-12-31.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a NSW business day on this page?
A New South Wales business day is a weekday that is not a statewide NSW public holiday in the official 2026 and 2027 lists. Weekends are never counted. Regional or limited observances stay in the total unless you include them.
Where do the NSW holiday dates come from?
They are the same official dates shown on the NSW public holidays pages. This calculator does not keep a second copy of those lists. The government source is New South Wales.
Can I enter dates outside 2026 and 2027?
This calculator only covers dates in years that have official public holiday data on this site (currently 2026 and 2027). Dates outside that window are rejected because weekend-only maths would miss gazetted holidays.
Does the NSW Bank Holiday reduce the working-day count?
Not by default. The first Monday in August is a banking observance, not a general public holiday for most New South Wales employees. Tick “include regional or limited observances” if your workplace treats that Monday as a non-working day.
Which NSW-only weekdays does this calculator skip?
Statewide NSW weekdays such as Labour Day and the King’s Birthday holiday are skipped automatically. Substitute weekdays that follow a weekend Anzac Day or Boxing Day are skipped as well. Check the NSW public holidays pages for the full dated list.
Is the NSW result legal or employment advice?
No. The figure is general information for planning. It is not an interpretation of an award, not a Fair Work decision, and not financial product advice. ASIC’s general-information standard applies: confirm the gazette and your own workplace rules before you rely on a date.
