Victoria Working Days Calculator – Business Days Between Dates

Count Victorian working days between two dates, or add business days to a start date. Saturdays, Sundays and statewide Victorian public holidays from the 2026 and 2027 official lists are left out of the total.

General information only. This VIC page applies published public holiday dates to calendar maths. It is not legal, employment or financial product advice. Check the official Victoria list and your award or agreement. That matches ASIC’s general-information approach.
Date range: This calculator only covers dates in years that have official public holiday data on this site (currently 2026 and 2027). Dates outside that window are rejected because weekend-only maths would miss gazetted holidays. See the dated list onVIC public holidays.

These results use Victoria public holidays. Other states have their own pages.

Dates must fall between 2026-01-01 and 2027-12-31. Those are the years with official holiday lists on this site. SeeAustralian public holidays.

Victorian holidays that change a due date

Victoria observes the national weekday holidays plus state days such as Labour Day in March, the Friday before the AFL Grand Final, and the June King’s Birthday holiday. Those statewide weekdays are treated as non-working days here.

Melbourne Cup Day is flagged as a metropolitan / local observance. It is not removed unless you include regional holidays, because many workplaces outside metropolitan Melbourne stay open or observe a different local day. AFL Grand Final Friday is statewide in the source list and is skipped by default.

The working-day span includes both ends when those dates are working days. Adding business days starts after the from date. Results cannot leave 2026-01-01 to2027-12-31.

      Frequently Asked Questions

What is a VIC business day on this page?

A Victoria business day is a weekday that is not a statewide VIC public holiday in the official 2026 and 2027 lists. Weekends are never counted. Regional or limited observances stay in the total unless you include them.

Where do the VIC holiday dates come from?

They are the same official dates shown on the VIC public holidays pages. This calculator does not keep a second copy of those lists. The government source is Victoria.

Can I enter dates outside 2026 and 2027?

This calculator only covers dates in years that have official public holiday data on this site (currently 2026 and 2027). Dates outside that window are rejected because weekend-only maths would miss gazetted holidays.

Is Melbourne Cup Day treated as a Victorian public holiday here?

Only if you include regional or limited observances. The source list marks Melbourne Cup Day as applying in metropolitan Melbourne unless a local substitute is arranged. Statewide Victorian weekdays are still skipped automatically.

Does AFL Grand Final Friday count as a working day in Victoria?

No. The Friday before the AFL Grand Final is a statewide Victorian public holiday in the official list used by this tool, so that Friday is excluded from working-day counts and from add-or-subtract results.

Is the VIC result legal or employment advice?

No. The figure is general information for planning. It is not an interpretation of an award, not a Fair Work decision, and not financial product advice. ASIC’s general-information standard applies: confirm the gazette and your own workplace rules before you rely on a date.
