Queensland dates this calculator watches
Queensland’s Labour Day falls in May and the King’s Birthday holiday is in October — both different from several other states. Those statewide weekdays are excluded. Easter and Christmas substitute weekdays in the official list are excluded as well.
The Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) is a Brisbane-area day in the source data, so it is optional. Christmas Eve is a part-day holiday from the evening; it stays a working day unless you choose to treat part-day holidays as a full day off.
The working-day span includes both ends when those dates are working days. Adding business days starts after the from date. Results cannot leave 2026-01-01 to2027-12-31.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a QLD business day on this page?
A Queensland business day is a weekday that is not a statewide QLD public holiday in the official 2026 and 2027 lists. Weekends are never counted. Regional or limited observances stay in the total unless you include them.
Where do the QLD holiday dates come from?
They are the same official dates shown on the QLD public holidays pages. This calculator does not keep a second copy of those lists. The government source is Queensland.
Can I enter dates outside 2026 and 2027?
This calculator only covers dates in years that have official public holiday data on this site (currently 2026 and 2027). Dates outside that window are rejected because weekend-only maths would miss gazetted holidays.
Is Ekka (Royal Queensland Show) excluded from QLD working days?
Only when you include regional or limited observances. The official list treats Ekka as a Brisbane-area holiday, with other districts using their own show days. Statewide Queensland holidays are still removed without that option.
Does Christmas Eve count as a full Queensland public holiday?
The source list records Christmas Eve as a part-day holiday from 6pm. This calculator leaves that Thursday in the working-day count unless you tick “treat part-day public holidays as a full non-working day”.
Is the QLD result legal or employment advice?
No. The figure is general information for planning. It is not an interpretation of an award, not a Fair Work decision, and not financial product advice. ASIC’s general-information standard applies: confirm the gazette and your own workplace rules before you rely on a date.
